The Year Of The Lord's Favour!!
by Sharon
Two nights ago my daughter rang me and asked me to pick her up from the station. We had dinner when we got home and then she looked for her phone as it really needed recharging. But she couldn't find it. She looked everywhere but it was not to be found. I told her to wait till the morning when it was light and we could see better.
Yesterday morning we both looked everywhere, in the house, outside the garage and in the car. Nothing. So around lunchtime I decided it was time to ask God for favour as it was obvious that the phone was misplaced somewhere. But where? At home? On the train? At the station? I am a great believer in the favour of God. I am always asking Him for favour, wherever I go, whatever I'm doing, especially when things get tough. I just position myself in the Presence and wait, because there is nothing else I can personally do about the situation anymore. For the rest of the afternoon I continued to pray favour over anyone who might find it.
Last night we got a phonecall from a man who had found the phone on the train! He had walked onto the train 3 stations after my daughter had got off. He had found the phone just lying there on the seat. He decided to take the phone home and try to find its owner rather than handing it in anywhere. It was that flat that it took a whole day to charge, so he didn't ring until last night. He just rang one of the numbers on the phone and got our home number, then rang us!
Ken and I went to pick up the phone last night in person. We were so thankful. You can imagine the difficulties of not having your phone anymore. I wanted to bless this man, so I put my hand forward for a handshake and verbally blessed him as a man of honour and integrity!
Isaiah 61:1-2 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me ... to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour!
