Paint covered chooks
by Sharon
After spending one day with Jared sampling the fish, it was time to work on his house. Ken finished replacing all the weathered barge boards around the base of the house whilst I painted the new ones. But suddenly Laura rang from Queensland so I dropped my painting and spoke to her for a while on the phone. When I went back to my paint tray and brushes - disaster! Jared's chooks had been walking through my paint tray and their feet were covered with paint. From there they had walked all around the concrete path leaving paint tracks in the shape of chicken feet everywhere. There was paint on their feathers as they had brushed up against the barge boards too. What a mess! In the end I had to grab each chook and scrub off the paint with a small brush and bucket. In the meantime Jahzeel had been busy burning off all the old boards that had been lying around. We finished off a busy day relaxing under the stars, eating one of Jared's famous BBQs and sitting pleasantly around the bonfire until it was time to go to bed.
