Off To Federation Square

by Sharon

This year Rachael has joined Melbourne Youth Music's Wind Symphony.  Last night they had their second performance for the year at Deakin Edge, Federation Square.  It was a wonderful night.  Ken, Rachael and I went out for dinner before the performance and then Rachael left early to get ready. Ken and I moved out into Federation Square after dinner and listened to a Mexican band for a while and then wandered into a cafe for a coffee that overlooked the stage at Deakin Edge.  We could see everyone rehearsing.  At 7.30pm we took our seats ready for the performance.  Rachael's Wind Symphony played 3 modern pieces.  Rachael sat in the front row as one of the First Flutes and played a solo here and there.  She looked so professional in her beautiful black evening gown, sitting with the orchestra, playing her flute!
