Another chicken rescue
by Sharon
Well it has been the season for chicken rescues this Autumn! A few weeks ago I got my third rescue hens, thanks to Laura again. This time there were 4 hens needing a new home - 2 Isa Browns and 2 more Araucanas (1 brown and 1 black). I have only ever had a white Araucana hen before but now I have a grey one, a brown one and a black one. I wonder what colour eggs they will lay? They seem to have settled in quite well but do not mix with the white Bantams. Even Lady Grey has been able to move back in with the flock. I have been watching her a lot lately and I feel she is visually impaired, if not completely blind. That might account for the beating she took when she first arrived. But the 9 chooks have all lived together for a few weeks now and everyone is settling in well. So peace at last - and no more rescues!!
